College football recruiting rankings update as of October 6, 2016.

Urban Meyer’s Ohio State Buckeyes find themselves firmly planted as the No. 1 recruiting class in the country once again, but if they peek over their shoulder, they’ll see a whole bunch of crimson coming up fast.

Alabama is making a big push for that No. 1 recruiting class following the addition of 5-star outside linebacker Dylan Moses, who committed to the Crimson Tide hours after an official visit last weekend. Landing the No. 6 overall player in the nation has Alabama only 107 points away from Ohio State.

Meanwhile, Miami fell from No. 12 to No. 14 after it lost a commitment from 4-star athlete Christopher Henderson, who is believed to be favoring the in-state Florida Gators now. The Gators, Michigan Wolverines and Clemson Tigers all dropped a spot this week after Texas A&M landed 3-star running back Jacob Kibodi.

Both Florida and Michigan could make a huge jump up the rankings if one was able to flip 5-star offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood away from the Crimson Tide. Even though Leatherwood had the “best visit ever” in Ann Arbor last weekend, he’s scheduled to be in Gainesville for an official visit this Saturday when Florida hosts LSU. The Gators are a bigger threat to flip Leatherwood than Michigan is, and if they do, that would drop Alabama to No. 4. Adding both Leatherwood and Henderson would have Florida hovering outside the top five at No. 6.

The Gators are also hosting 4-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, but he’s likely ending up at Michigan to play close to home. Tacking on Peoples-Jones would add 216 recruiting points to the Wolverines’ total and would slot them back in front of Texas A&M.

Meanwhile, Florida’s rival, Georgia, lost a commitment from 4-star cornerback Latavious Brini, which knocked the Bulldogs down one spot to No. 5 in the rankings.

Below are the current top 25 teams for the college football recruiting rankings.
