College football recruiting rankings update as of October 19, 2016.

For the second straight week, Bob Stoops’ Sooners are on top of the recruiting rankings despite both Ohio State (5) and Alabama (4) having more 5-star commits.

Notre Dame would have dropped from its No. 4 ranking when 4-star defensive end Donovan Jeter from the Fighting Irish, but Brian Kelly’s staff landed a commitment from 4-star cornerback Elijah Hicks hours later.

Two newcomers in the top 25 are Louisville and Colorado. Bobby Petrino’s Cardinals found their way up to No. 23 after picking up a verbal commitment from 4-star running back Colin Wilson, who became their 22nd commit in the cycle.

As for Mike MacIntyre’s Buffaloes, they made some noise on Monday when they flipped 3-star center Xavier Newman from the Texas Longhorns. But, one day later, Colorado snuck into the No. 25 spot when it landed Newman’s high school teammate, 4-star athlete KD Nixon, a former Tennessee commit.

One of the teams who dropped from the top 25 spots was Penn State, which fell to No. 27 after 3-star safety Derrek Pitts flipped to West Virginia. North Carolina held Colorado’s spot at No. 25 but now sits at No. 29.

Below are the current top 25 teams for the college football recruiting rankings.
