College football recruiting rankings update as of Nov. 3, 2016. A major decommitment has shaken up the establishment.

Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide had briefly recaptured the top spot in the 2017 recruiting class rankings, but now that honor belongs to Ohio State — again.

Alabama has dropped from No. 1 to No. 2 after 4-star JUCO linebacker Gary Johnson decommitted from the Crimson Tide.

There was another SEC team that dropped one spot: the Florida Gators. Jim McElwain’s club fell from No. 12 to No. 13 after losing two 3-star prospects from their 2017 class. Last week, running back Adarius Lemons backed off his pledge hours after 3-star running back Malik Davis had committed to Florida. And on Tuesday night, defensive tackle Jordon Scott decommitted from the Gators.

There could be an upward trend for McElwain’s team soon, though. Five-star safety Devon Hunter revealed his top five schools with Florida heavily in the mix. The Gators were also included in the top five of 4-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, but he’ll likely help Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines move up the board when he announces his decision.

Below are the current top 25 teams for the college football recruiting rankings.
