CSGO Spring and Playoffs Info

Spring groups are made and matches are generated. Please read the following for general information regarding what to expect in Spring groups and the playoffs.

As stated in the rules, the groups are now mixed between regions and teams were seeded by their Fall standings into the new groups; the better your team performed in the Fall, the lower the seeds you will be competing against in your new groups. With the parternship with CEVO, there should be no issues in finding a fair middleground for server locations; by default it will be the location with the lowest difference in each team’s ping. If you need help negotiating server locations for your matches, contact CEVO sooner rather than later.

In Division 1, the top 3 teams in the groups of 7 teams (8x) + the top 4 teams in the groups of 8 teams (2x) will advance to a 32-team single elimination playoff bracket.

In Division 2, the top 4 teams in each of the 8 group will advance to a 32-team single elimination playoff bracket.

As a reminder, every individual rounds counts! Playoff contention is often decided by set differentials and head-to-head results as there are normally a few tied records, so make sure to get as many round wins as possible, as give up as little as possible (16-0 is better than 16-14, and 14-16 is better than 0-16)!

Additionally, remember that any unreported matches on the CSL site will be counted automatic forfeits for both teams; simply report using the information on the CEVO match page. Even if the match is reported on CEVO, if it not recorded on the CSL site, it counts as a forfeit loss as each phase is automatically generated from the rankings of the preceding group stage. We have reminded teams multiple times in the Fall, but there was still multiple teams that dropped several seed ranks due to not reporting matches. You definitely do not want to drop out of playoff contention because of a simple mistake so double check every week that your coordinator has reported the match!

Division 1 $50,000 prize distribubtion is as follows:

  • 1st = 20,000
  • 2nd = 10,000
  • 3rd/4th = 4,000
  • 5th-8th = 2,000
  • 9th-16th = 500

Currently there is no monetary prize for Division 2; if we are able to obtain sponsored prizes (peripherals, etc) we will let you know.
