This Friday, four of Canada’s premier collegiate League of Legends teams will compete in Toronto, Canada, at the Scotiabank Theatre for a shot at the title of 2017’s top Canadian team. The four teams in contention for that title are: British Columbia, Simon Fraser, Toronto, and Ryerson. Before these teams hit the Rift, here are some quick predictions and analysis from a couple CSL casters and journalists!
“At first glance, three of the four teams participating in the Invitational are in clear to win it all: British Columbia, Simon Fraser, and Toronto. After losing out in the West Region Finals, I think British Columbia will have the drive to win and will reclaim the title of best Canadian collegiate team.” –George “Pénguín” Crook, Journalist
“I’m not sure how the brackets will turn out, but I think if the stars align It’ll be down to SFU and Toronto. It’s a tough call, but I think SFU can take it. I had the pleasure of casting both teams’ regional finals, and SFU had a much bigger challenge to overcome in the uLoL Campus Series. I think it lit a fire under them and allowed them to work on their biggest weaknesses that were exploited by UBC. I expect SSJ2 SFU going into Canada.” –Joshua “Pheqes” Quest, Caster
“I have little to no doubt that this will be swept through by Toronto. They’ve become a fierce competitor this season and this is going to be a great gauge for how they’ll stack up on the Riot stage. I could see Simon Fraser causing them some headaches, but it isn’t anything they likely can’t handle. I’ll be looking for Bananas in the jungle to set the pace of the early game and snowball his team to a 3-0 or 3-1, with the first loss (should it happen) being in game 1 or 2.” –Kyle “CorvusCovax” Crowe, Caster
