Florida State running back Dalvin Cook joined the Dan Patrick Show to discuss his impending NFL Draft decision, and explain why he would considering returning to FSU.

There isn’t much left to accomplish for Dalvin Cook in Tallahassee.

He has broken Warrick Dunn’s school records for rushing yards in a season (1,691) and rushing yards in a career (4,319). He’s a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, and he’s projected as a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft — if he were to declare.

The former 5-Star recruit joined the Dan Patrick Show on Thursday to discuss his looming decision on whether he’ll take the jump to the pros or return to Tallahassee. When asked about why he would ever consider returning to FSU, Cook expressed his love for the Seminoles and the Sunshine State’s capital.

“I would go back because I love this university. I love everything we have going on here. It’s really like my second home. Basically. I’ve become so comfortable with everything that’s going on here. I love it,” he said.

Moments later, after being pressed by Patrick, Cook laughingly admitted to having rehearsed his answer.

Of course, one of the few things the star halfback hasn’t accomplished is winning a national title. His signed his National Letter of Intent a month after FSU took down Auburn in the 2014 BCS National Championship Game.

If he were to go back — which appears highly unlikely at this point — he would be doing so with his eyes on leading Florida State to its first-ever College Football Playoff title.

But again, the odds are he’ll head to the NFL. And plenty of general managers, coaches and scouts will be drooling over Cook. It’s likely he goes within the top 15 picks — especially considering the success Ezekiel Elliott has seen in his rookie season after the Dallas Cowboys selected him at No. 4 overall.

Teams that could target Cook in the draft include the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants and New York Jets.
