Five-star athlete Deangelo Gibbs revealed his top five schools and the details of his upcoming commitment on Sunday night.
On Sunday night, hours before the recruiting dead period hit, 5-star prospect Deangelo Gibbs let everyone in on where he stands with his upcoming commitment.
The nation’s No. 2 athlete and No. 13 overall player revealed his top five schools as well as his commitment date. On Jan. 1, Gibbs will join a power program in the SEC, as he’ll announce his decision between Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn and Florida, which he listed Nos. 1-5, respectively.
The move to unveil his top schools and commitment date follows an official visit to Athens this past weekend, which was Gibbs’ first trip back to see the Bulldogs since this past summer.
On Thursday, the 5-star athlete received a visit from Alabama defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley, less than a week after Gibbs spent an official visit at Auburn on Dec. 3. That trip came on the heels of a visit he received from Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn.
Gibbs also used an official visit in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 22 when the Crimson Tide took down Texas A&M, 33-14. He still has two official visits remaining, but there aren’t any known plans for Gibbs to use them, especially considering he’ll be making his decision on New Year’s Day.
It has long been believed that the Grayson High School (Loganville, Georgia) prospect has been Georgia’s to lose, and it appears as though Kirby Smart will win another recruiting battle and keep a Peach State kid close to home.
