Five-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones committed to Michigan on Thursday, giving the Wolverines 22 total commits in the 2017 recruiting class.

The Wolverines continue to add to their 2017 recruiting haul, and the latest addition is a big one.

Five-star prospect Donovan Peoples-Jones committed to Michigan on Thursday night, giving the Wolverines 22 total commits in their 2017 recruiting class. With the addition of Peoples-Jones, Jim Harbaugh’s team now moves up from No. 6 to No. 5 in the class rankings, jumping Texas A&M in the process.

The Detroit native is ranked as the No. 4 wide receiver and No. 32 overall player in the nation. He grew up a fan of the Gators thanks to Percy Harvin and Tim Tebow, but ultimately decided to commit to Michigan over Florida, Florida State, Michigan State and Ohio State.

His pledge comes one day after the Wolverines added another highly touted pass catcher. On Wednesday, 4-star recruit Tarik Black announced he’d spend the next three-to-four years playing in maize and blue when he committed to the Wolverines over Alabama, Auburn, Stanford and UCLA.

Black and Peoples-Jones likely won’t be the last notable wide receivers to commit to Michigan in this class. Four-star recruit Nico Collins, the country’s No. 21 wide receiver, is scheduled to announce his decision on National Signing Day. When he does, it appears as though he’ll be siding with the Wolverines as well.

With 4-star quarterback Dylan McCaffrey also headlining the class, Harbaugh has set his program up for success with an emphasis on the air attack.
