Three-star cornerback Faion Hicks committed to the Wisconsin Badgers.

For the second time in three weeks, Paul Chryst’s Badgers fell to a top-five Big Ten team after Ohio State needed an overtime session to win in Madison, 30-23.

However, 3-star cornerback Faion Hicks ended the weekend on a high note for Badgers fans when he committed to Wisconsin on Sunday.

The Badgers dipped into the Sunshine State talent pool with the addition of the Pembroke Pines, Florida native, who released a statement regarding his college decision.

“First, I would like to thank the higher power for blessing me with the ability to play the game of football at a high level. [I] want to thank my parents, who have sacrificed so much for me, and my coaches and peers, who have supported me through this journey. Thank you to all the coaches who have offered me a scholarship to play at their universities. This was not easy choice or process, but it feels great to say I have committed to the University of Wisconsin.”

Hicks becomes the 11th overall commit for the Badgers’ 2017 recruiting class, which ranks No. 50 in the nation.

Despite the loss to the Buckeyes this past weekend, Wisconsin remains in the top 10 of the AP Top 25 rankings, which could lead to some more momentum on the recruiting trail.

Hicks was in Madison for the game this past weekend and chose the Badgers over offers from Florida Atlantic, Illinois, Iowa State, South Florida, UCF and others.

He’s the second defensive back commit for Chryst’s staff, who already has a pledge from 3-star cornerback Madison Cone, from Kernersville, North Carolina.

Livin’ B1G: Stuck In The Middle

The Big Ten won't be mentioned in any best-conference-in-the-nation conversations. Right now, it looks like a league filled with middle-of-the-road teams headed toward long offseasons.
