The final AP Top 25 college football rankings have been released and Clemson, after its victory over Alabama to win the College Football Playoff National Championship, finishes the season ranked No. 1 in the poll for the first time since 1981.

The final Associated Press poll is out, and Clemson is on top for the first time to end the season since 1981 after a thrilling 35-31 victory over Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson found wide receiver Hunter Renfrow for a touchdown with one second left as the Tigers ended the Crimson Tide’s chance to repeat as champions, and head coach Nick Saban’s bid to tie Bear Bryant for most all-time national titles.

The Crimson Tide didn’t fall far after the loss, finishing No. 2. They were followed by USC, who beat Penn State in the Rose Bowl to finish 10-3, and then Washington and Oklahoma. Ohio State, who lost to Clemson in the CFB semifinal, came in at No. 6. Penn State, Florida State, Wisconsin, and Michigan rounds out the top 10.

Derek Willis (Yes, Derek Willis!) Throws It Down

Kentucky’s Derek Willis is known for his outside shooting ability, but he showed Big Blue Nation that he can dunk too. The Wildcats’ bench (including De’Aaron Fox, who left with an ankle injury) was up in arms when Willis threw it down in UK’s 85-69 win over No. 24 South Carolina.
