A Florida Gators football recruiting update for the week of October 9, 2016.

Blame Florida. Blame LSU. Blame the SEC. Point the finger at whomever you want for the lack of a major football game this past weekend, but what it comes down to is a lost weekend of recruiting for Jim McElwain’s team.

Hurricane Matthew forced the cancellation of the game between the Gators and Tigers, which was set to draw some major recruits to Gainesville. Five-star linebacker Anthony Hines, 4-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones and 4-star defensive end LaBryan Ray all had to cancel their visits to The Swamp because of the weather.

Four-star cornerback Bookie Radley-Hiles had already rescheduled his visit for Nov. 12 when Florida hosts South Carolina, and the good news is Radley-Hiles still seems to have the Gators as his No. 1 choice after having spoken with Campus Insiders.

Florida will host Missouri this upcoming weekend for homecoming, and 4-star center Cesar Ruiz, from the IMG Academy, is set to be in attendance.

Outside of that, the Gators seem to be in a prime position to land 4-star athlete Christopher Henderson, who decommitted from Miami last week. Florida has been trying to flip Henderson for some time now. It will also battle with the Hurricanes for 4-star cornerback Latavious Brini, who backed off his pledge from Georgia.
