Florida vs. Arkansas prediction and game preview. Projecting who wins the SEC West matchup between the Gators and Razorbacks.

Florida vs. Arkansas Game Preview

When: Saturday, November 5 – 3:30 p.m. ET
Where: Razorback Stadium, Fayetteville, AR
TV Broadcast: CBS

Florida beat Georgia 24-10 in the annual rivalry game in Jacksonville, as the Gators defense clamped down on the Dawgs and held them to 164 total yards. The offense still struggled, gaining only 231 yards and will have to get better if want to be taken seriously in the College Football Playoff race.

Arkansas had a week off after the 56-3 shellacking it took at the hands of Auburn. Quarterback Austin Allen struggled in the loss, throwing for 187 yards and one interception while the rushing attack was bottled up for 25 total yards.

What To Know About Florida

When it comes time for Florida to put points on the board to win a game, can it actually pull the deed off? It hasn’t seemed that way so far in the year and a half under Jim McElwain. Luke Del Rio has been mediocre since returning from an injury, throwing for only 131 yards in the win against Georgia. The running game has been solid and should be able to gain some yards against a Razorbacks team that gave up 543 yards rushing to Auburn.

The defense has been spectacular and the reason the Gators are where they are at the moment. Shutting down Arkansas running back Rawleigh Williams III will be a key focus so to make Allen throw the ball against a talented secondary to try and beat them.

What to Know About Arkansas

The Razorbacks were thoroughly dominated in every facet of the game in the 56-3 loss to Auburn before the bye week. Running back Rawleigh Williams III was shut down, gaining just 22 rushing yards. He will have to be better and put a little balance into the Hogs offense. Allen will have to be smart with the ball when throwing against a Gators secondary that is one of the tops in the nation.

The defense won’t have the same challenge they did against the Auburn rushing attack, but allowing 543 yards on the ground has to have this unit angry and ready to prove that they are better than that. Pressuring Del Rio would be a good start.

Offense: Arkansas. How is Florida so bad on offense with all of the talent on that side of the ball? It remains a mystery.

Defense: Florida. The secondary is one of the most talented units in the nation.

Special Teams: Florida. Punter Johnny Townsend’s ability to pin opponents deep in their own territory is a major weapon.

Coaching: Arkansas. McElwain is an offensive-minded guy. Why do the Gators struggle so badly there?

Intangibles: Florida. Keep winning and a date in Atlanta with the SEC West winner will come.

Matchup To Watch

Florida rushing attack vs. Arkansas rushing defense

The Razorbacks were embarrassed by Auburn. If they have any pride, stopping the Gators on the ground would be a good start.

Florida vs. Arkansas Prediction

Florida still has an outside shot at the College Football Playoff, but it can’t slip up at all. Arkansas is a tough place to play, and Florida’s offense struggles at home in Gainesville, so who knows how it will react on the road. The defense will continue to play well, though, and the Gators will show just enough life to pull out a key victory.

Florida vs. Arkansas Score Prediction: Florida 27, Arkansas 21
