The Florida Gators received quite the gift on Christmas Day in the form of four-star offensive tackle T.J. Moore (Charlotte, North Carolina). Moore, the nation’s No. 31-ranked offensive tackle in the 2017 class, announced his commitment on Twitter in the following message.

“Family & Friends and coaches, I am grateful to God and humbled by the physical gifts He’s granted me, which has allowed me to play the game that I love. I’m extremely thankful to my parents, and all the others, who have supported me throughout my journey. I’m proud to announce that I have decided to officially commit to The University of Florida, as I work towards furthering my education and my dream of playing football at the next level.”

For the Gators, Moore’s commitment may serve as a momentum boost on the recruiting trail heading into the 2017 recruiting cycle’s home stretch. He’s the first prospect rated with four-stars since cornerback Marco Wilson committed on August 1, 2016, and eighth four-star commit overall.

Moore joins fellow four-star offensive tackle Kadeem Telfort, who’s the No. 28 player at his position, in the Gators’ class.

Moore is listed at 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, and chose Florida over the likes of N.C. State, South Carolina, who he was originally committed to, and Tennessee.
