An FSU football recruiting update as of December 27, 2016. The Seminoles added a monster recruit right before Christmas.

Jimbo Fisher is Florida State. That is apparent at this point. There’s a reason why the Seminoles were afraid of losing him, and, luckily for them, he’s loyal to the university and the program.

Look at how quickly giving Fisher an extension has paid off for FSU. The ‘Noles flipped 3-star tight end Tre’ McKitty from Oregon, then managed to land 4-star defensive end Joshua Kaindoh. Kaindoh was pledged to Maryland but ended up backing off that commitment last month. Both players are from IMG Academy, thus strengthening FSU’s relationship with a program that has produced players like Deondre Francois in years past.

FSU is looking to make a strong push as we inch closer and closer toward National Signing Day. The ‘Noles are trying to hold off rival Florida from trying to flip 4-star defensive tackle Cory Durden and 3-star quarterback James Blackman. They’re also battling the Gators for 5-star offensive guard Tedarrell Slaton and 4-star defensive end Jarez Parks, and are in a better position to land both.

As always, the in-state battles within the Sunshine State will be fun to watch as the cycle winds down, especially given how robust the landscape is with all the state’s new hires.
