The FSU-Michigan Orange Bowl matchup receives some extra spice thanks to one Seminole coach’s shot at Jim Harbaugh.
On paper, the Orange Bowl matchup between Florida State and Michigan already promised to be one of the postseason’s best. But now, thanks to one member of the Seminoles’ coaching staff, the contest has received that added trash talk element that really spices a game up.
On Sunday, after the Orange Bowl was announced, defensive graduate assistant Jeremiah Wilson took aim north at Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines, referring to their offseason marketing venture into Florida as “antics” and “publicity stunts.”
All the stars are certainly aligning for this one.
Considering bowl games can be hit or miss for a team based on players packing it in after missing out on their ultimate goal, Wilson’s comments will likely curb any chance of that happening in Ann Arbor.
“I know I’m motivated,” Harbaugh said on Sunday after the bowl announcement.
After hearing the talk coming from Florida State’s coaching staff, he’ll have even more motivation. His players also sound as if they’re going to be ready to finish strong after missing out on the College Football Playoff.
