Three-star wide receiver Gavin Holmes is narrowing in on a college decision.

Justin, Texas prospect Gavin Holmes has trimmed his list of potential colleges to seven. On Thursday, Holmes announced his top schools on Twitter.

“Thank you god for this opportunity! I want to thank every school who has believed in me, and offered me a scholarship to play at their school. With that being said, I have decided to narrow down my list and will be focusing on these 7 schools!”

Making the cut, in alphabetical order, were: Arizona State, Baylor, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA and Utah.

Listed at 5-foot-5 and 178 pounds, Holmes is the nation’s No. 88 and state of Texas’ No. 18 wide receiver. He has blazing speed and can both stretch the field and work in tight spaces out of the slot.

The Cornhuskers are believed to be the frontrunner for the former Iowa commit at this time. He officially visited Lincoln, Nebraska on Dec. 9, just over two weeks after decommitting from the Hawkeyes.

He’s also taken official visits to Oklahoma and Arizona State in December.
