Four-star offensive tackle Jake Moretti flipped his commitment to Colorado from Ohio State on Thursday night.

Here come the Buffaloes.

On Thursday night, Mike MacIntyre’s team moved up from No. 25 to No. 20 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings after it flipped 4-star prospect Jake Moretti from the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Moretti, who’s from Arvada, Colorado, originally committed to Ohio State on July 4, 2015.

Ranked as the No. 14 offensive tackle and No. 103 overall player in the nation, Moretti released a statement regarding his decision.

“After a great deal of thought and discussion with my family and Coach Madden, I have made the decision to attend [the] University of Colorado in January [of] 2017. I’m grateful for my experience with Ohio State and [give] a sincere thank you to Urban Meyer and the Ohio State staff. I am looking forward to representing my home state as a Buff! [I give] a sincere thanks to Coach MacIntyre, Coach Adams, and the CU staff for this opportunity.”

By losing a commitment from Moretti, the Buckeyes fall from No. 2 to No. 3 in the class rankings. That drop comes a day after Alabama had hopped over the Buckeyes and reclaimed the No. 1 spot.

For Colorado, this is simply another step in the right direction. The Buffaloes are in first place in the Pac-12’s South division and are contending for a berth in the conference title game.

Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufau spoke with Campus Insiders recently and expressed how MacIntyre has changed the culture in Boulder. Adding Moretti as the 20th commit in the Buffaloes’ 2017 recruiting class helps prove Liufau’s point.

Moretti is a 6-foot-5, 265-pound offensive tackle with a natural feel for the position. He’s aggressive, finishes blocks to the ground, and explodes off the line with athleticism and a nasty demeanor.
