Three-star offensive tackle Jordan Tucker decommitted from the Tennessee Volunteers on Thursday.

And then there were 24. That’s how many commits Butch Jones’ Volunteers now have following their most recent loss from the 2017 recruiting class.

Three-star recruit Jordan Tucker, from Roswell, Georgia, decommitted from Tennessee on Thursday, though the Vols still sit at No. 7 in the recruiting class rankings.

The No. 6 offensive tackle in the state of Georgia and the No. 96 offensive tackle in the nation released a statement regarding his decision to back off his pledge to Tennessee.

“With a lot of thought, and prayer, and talking with my family and coaches, I am decommitting from Tennessee. I want to thank [offensive line] Coach [Don] Mahoney, [recruiting coordinator] Coach G [Robert Gillespie], and Vol Nation for recruiting me. Tennessee is still in my top schools to choose from. I feel that I need more time to go through this process and really narrow down my choices to where I plan on spending the next four years of my life.”

Aside from Tennessee, Tucker holds scholarship offers from Illinois, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, South Carolina and others. He originally committed to the Vols on June 18.

At 6-foot-6, 320 lbs Tucker needs work as a pass blocker and would probably benefit from moving inside on the offensive line. While he needs to improve his hand fighting and placement, he is strong and has a powerful punch at the line of scrimmage. With his size, ability to drive defenders off the ball in the running game, and his long arms, Tucker could do some big things as a guard at the next level.
