Three-star inside linebacker K.J. Britt committed to Auburn on Monday in a Halloween, trick-or-treat themed video.
Gus Malzahn’s Tigers have moved up to No. 13 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings thanks to their latest addition.
Three-star prospect K.J. Britt committed to Auburn on Monday in a video through Bleacher Report. It shows Britt answering the door on Halloween and greeting a series of trick-or-treaters. He hands out candy to a kid dressed as a Florida Gator and another dressed as a Georgia Bulldog, but when another child shows up in a Malzahn costume, Britt hands him a giant candy bar and announces his commitment with an appropriate “Happy Halloween and War Eagle.”
Britt, who’s from Oxford, Alabama, is the No. 4 inside linebacker in the state of Alabama and the No. 17 inside linebacker in the country.
While he chose the Tigers over both Florida and Georgia, the 3-star recruit held additional offers from Alabama, Clemson, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, NC State, South Carolina, Stanford and Tennessee, among others.
He’s measured at 6-foot, 232 lbs, and can certainly pack a punch on the gridiron. Britt is an old school linebacker, capable of laying the wood on ball carriers.
He does a great job of shedding blocks and is aggressive in stopping the run. If he improves his abilities in pass coverage, he’ll be an every-down threat in the second level for the Auburn defense.
Britt’s pledge to the Tigers comes on the heels of an official visit to Oxford for Ole Miss’40-29 loss to Auburn. The weekend prior, Britt took an official visit to Stanford for the Cardinal’s 10-5 loss to Colorado.
