LSU football recruiting update as of October 16, 2016.

Not only did Ed Orgeron lead his Tigers to a 45-10 win over Southern Miss, but they had a high-profile visitor to witness the victory. Five-star recruit Dylan Moses, the No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 6 overall player in the 2017 recruiting class, was in Death Valley to watch the win.

Moses, who committed to Alabama two weeks ago following an official visit to Tuscaloosa, took the unofficial visit to Baton Rouge despite having canceled his official visit tour.

Meanwhile, 4-star safety and LSU commit Grant Delpit came away impressed by the Fighting Irish during his official visit to Notre Dame despite Brian Kelly’s team losing to Stanford, 17-10. However, it’s highly unlikely Delpit flips from the Tigers.

And what should have been a big recruiting weekend for the Florida Gators a couple of weeks ago could end up serving the same purpose for LSU. The Tigers’ matchup with Florida has been rescheduled for Nov. 19 in Baton Rouge, but there were some conditions about future meetings between the two programs in order for the game to take place this season. We’ll see who will be in Baton Rouge for that showdown with the Gators.

A win against Florida would be huge for Orgeron, who’s still interviewing to be the full-time head coach of the Tigers. He’s one of two big names 5-star recruit Cam Akers would like to see running the show in Baton Rouge. Akers, the No. 2 running back and No. 4 overall player in the nation, is a former Alabama commit.
