Five-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson is set to visit LSU this weekend when the Tigers host the Florida Gators.
We have to give credit to Ed Orgeron. Since Les Miles was fired, Orgeron has not only led the Tigers to a 4-1 record, but he’s also managed to keep LSU’s 2017 recruiting class afloat. It ranks No. 6 in the nation right now with 19 total commits.
Orgeron and his staff will look to both improve that record and make a big splash on the recruiting trail this weekend when the Tigers host the Gators. Five-star prospect Marvin Wilson, the No. 1 defensive tackle and No. 10 overall player in the nation, will be in attendance, according to SEC Country.
Ironically, LSU’s game with Florida was supposed to be a huge recruiting weekend for the Gators. But their matchup on Oct. 8 was postponed, thanks to Hurricane Matthew, and was eventually rescheduled for this Saturday in Baton Rouge.
The Tigers will have their chance to impress Wilson, who didn’t seem to be in favor of LSU’s decision to fire the Mad Hatter. Wilson was originally slated to attend the Tigers’ matchup with Alabama on Nov. 5. However, his teammate, 5-star offensive tackle Walker Little, was unable to attend LSU’s 10-0 loss to the Crimson Tide so Wilson canceled his visit.
Florida State and Oklahoma have already received official visits from Wilson. Ohio State is set to get a visit from the 5-star defensive tackle on Nov. 26 when the Buckeyes are set to take on the Michigan Wolverines.
His trip to Tallahassee took place on the weekend of Oct. 28 when the Seminoles fell to Clemson, 37-34. Wilson’s time with the Sooners occurred On Sept. 17 when Oklahoma lost to Ohio State, 45-24.
A few LSU commits have been trying pull Wilson on board for awhile now, but the Sooners and Buckeyes seem to be the favorites to land his commitment.
