USA Today has released its preseason coaches poll for the 2016-17 NCAA Men’s Basketball season.


USA Today has released its official preseason coaches poll for the 2016-17 NCAA men’s basketball season.

Headlining the poll with the top spot are the Duke Blue Devils, a team bolstered by highly-touted incoming freshmen Harry Giles, Marques Bolden, Frank Jackson and Jayson Tatum along with likely All-American candidate Grayson Allen. Following close behind are the Kansas Jayhawks and reigning national champion Villanova Wildcats.

The ACC and Big Ten have the most representation of any conference with five teams apiece, while the Big 12, Big East and Pac-12 each have three teams listed. The American Athletic Conference and West Coast Conference each have two teams, while the SEC and Atlantic 10 have one.

The coaches poll is listed as follows:

4. Kentucky Wildcats – 695

5. Oregon Ducks – 620

6. North Carolina Tar Heels – 614

10. Wisconsin Badgers – 487

11. Arizona Wildcats – 468

12. Indiana Hoosiers – 435

13. Gonzaga Bulldogs – 371

14. Louisville Cardinals – 367

15. Purdue Boilermakers – 324

16. UConn Huskies – 239

17. Syracuse Orange – 224

18. West Virginia Mountaineers – 204

19. St. Mary’s Gaels – 203
