Alabama offensive analyst Mike Locksley will reportedly join Lane Kiffin’s staff at FAU as the Owls’ next offensive coordinator.
There are now conflicting reports as to whether Locksley will travel to FAU alongside Kiffin. Bruce Feldman has refuted the initial claim.

Should Locksley, in fact, take the move to Boca Raton, it will play to the narrative – and previous reports – that Kiffin would be taking select members of Alabama’s staff with him.
The effect of Lane Kiffin’s departure from Alabama is already being felt in Tuscaloosa.
Days after Kiffin was named as FAU’s new head football coach, it appears he’s tapping into Nick Saban’s staff to round out his own staff in Boca Raton.
According to a report from Football Scoop, Kiffin is planning on hiring Alabama offensive analyst Mike Locksley as his offensive coordinator with the Owls.
Locksley is FAU’s first notable hire under Kiffin, and the news comes less than 24 hours after Kiffin chose not to retain six FAU assistants .
Locksley spent four seasons as Maryland’s offensive coordinator prior to joining the Crimson Tide this past season. He also served as the head coach at New Mexico from 2009 to 2011.
In 2012, under Locksley, the Terrapins ranked No. 123 in total offense with 284.8 yards per game and No. 109 in scoring offense with 20.1 points per game. In the next three seasons, in those respective categories, the Terps finished No. 77 (396.5) and No. 83 (26.2), No. 112 (342.1) and No. 67 (28.5), No. 8 (375) and No. 95 (24.7).
Locksley did prove to be beneficial for Maryland on the recruiting trail. He helped reel in former 5-star wide receiver Sefon Diggs, keeping him away from the likes of Auburn, Cal and Florida.
He also helped the Terps land former 4-star offensive tackles Damian Prince and Derwin Gray, former 4-star defensive end Jesse Aniebonam and former 4-star running back Wes Brown.
