Ohio State football recruiting update as of October 10, 2016. The Buckeyes still stand atop the rankings, and have eyes on adding yet another 5-star recruit.

Ohio State stayed unbeaten after Saturday’s 38-17 win over Indiana. But unlike their No. 2 ranking in the AP poll, the Buckeyes are still in the top spot of the 2017 recruiting class rankings with 17 total commits.

Five-star recruit Trevon Grimes, the No. 3 wide receiver in the nation, has been committed to Ohio State for almost two months, and he’s officially begun his road to recovery after tearing his ACL in a game versus Bishop Gorman that featured some of his future teammates: 5-star quarterback Tate Martell, 4-star wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey and 4-star defensive tackle Haskell Garrett.

The Buckeyes ended up hosting 4-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones this past weekend. The nation’s No. 4 wide receiver was scheduled to take his second official visit to Florida, but Hurricane Matthew changed that plan, and Peoples-Jones ended up making the trip to Columbus. Although, as of now, he’s still projected to end up with rival Michigan when all is said and done.

Ohio State will be on the road these next two weeks at Wisconsin and Penn State, but on Oct. 29, it will host Northwestern. Both Lindsey and Garrett are scheduled to be in attendance, as is 5-star linebacker Anthony Hines.

The Buckeyes already lead the nation with five 5-star commits. That weekend could be a step toward adding a sixth.
