Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech Prediction Roundtable – What’s Going To Happen

Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech prediction roundtable with the Campus Insiders staff. Breaking down what will happen in Saturday’s Big 12 battle between the Sooners and Red Raiders.

Jeff Bartl

Texas Tech is going to score, because that’s what it (usually) does. You know what else the Red Raiders do? Give up a lot of points. Baker Mayfield is going to throw for six touchdowns, and the Sooners won’t miss Samaje Perine as they end up winning this one by 30.

Ha! Yeah, okay, Oklahoma is winning this football game. This won’t even be fair. Even with Samaje Perine out, the Sooners will be fine. Baker will have a great game. Mixon will tote the rock. And Ogbonnia Okoronkwo will come up with a couple of big sacks in a win for OU.

Dave Miller

Patrick Mahomes should get his fair share of yards and find the end zone a few times against an OU secondary that has allowed 17 touchdown passes thus far. However, the Tech run game is not dependable, and the defense is porous. Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield will have a big day against his former team, and wide receiver Dede Westbrook will continue to be a matchup nightmare for opposing defensive backs. OU is playing its best football of the season, and it continues in a high-scoring game against the Red Raiders. OU’s defense will be a little leaky in the first half before making some halftime adjustments and neutralizing the Red Raiders offense in the third and fourth quarters.

Brian Stultz

I could pick 11 people out of our office right now and that group would play better defense than Texas Tech. Baker Mayfield will be sitting in the pocket all game having enough time to enjoy a nice cup of tea (unlike Mary Poppins, it will not be drunk while floating near the ceiling) and find receivers for a ton of yards and points. Sooners roll.
