Former Auburn linebacker commit Robert Hicks is generating a lot of interest. Oregon and Louisville are the leaders for the services of the 2018 product.

Robert Hicks remains one of the more intriguing recruits in the Class of 2018.

The linebacker and former Auburn commit said that Oregon and Louisville are the favorites to land his services, as Willie Taggart and Bobby Petrino are in hot pursuit of his pledge. However, Hicks admitted that the list of schools he’s interested in is still growing, and offseason visits could change the order of his schools as he continues to explore his options. He also admitted that while Oregon is quite a distance from home, he will not have a problem committing to the Ducks if Eugene ends up feeling like the right fit.

Hicks is scheduled to visit Louisville, Georgia, Florida and Western Kentucky over the spring, and a timetable for his pledge has not been set.

The three-star product is moving from defensive end to linebacker as a senior at Miami Central High, so the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder will be undergoing an adjustment period before he moves onto the next level.

Hicks, who had committed to Auburn on March 1 of last year, is known for his quick feet and change of direction skills, and he is adept at covering running backs out of the backfield as well as rushing the passer.

Petrino and the Cardinals have been high on Hicks for a while, as he could be a quality South Florida-based athlete that would help the Louisville defense in the future.
