Four-star JUCO wide receiver Stephen Guidry committed to LSU, giving the Tigers 19 total commits in their 2017 recruiting class.
Days after the Tigers hired Matt Canada as their next offensive coordinator, they added a weapon to next season’s offense.
On Friday, 4-star JUCO wide receiver Stephen Guidry decided to re-commit to LSU. The 6-4, 190-pound pass catcher had originally given his pledge to the Tigers on May 21 when Les Miles was serving as their head coach. However, the Mad Hatter was fired by LSU, and Guidry decommitted from the Tigers on the heels of Miles’ departure.
Now, with Ed Orgeron’s era as head coach beginning, Guidry decided to re-join LSU’s class and released a statement explaining his decision.
“I’d like to thank every school that has offered me the chance to continue my football career and further my education with a full scholarship. My recruiting process has been fun, but I can gladly say this roller coaster ride is over. One of my biggest motivations to play the game of football is my family. I want them to be right there along side me for the journey to come. Just the idea of my sisters being able to bring my nieces to Death Valley on Saturday to watch their uncle play gives me the chills. With that being said, I’ve decided to recommit to Louisiana State University.”
LSU’s 2017 recruiting class now has 19 total commits, and the Tigers sit at No. 8 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings.
