Western Michigan vs. Toledo prediction roundtable with the Campus Insiders staff. Breaking down what will happen during Friday’s game between the Broncos and Rockets.
I’ve been on the “Row the Boat” bandwagon for quite some time, and I’m not going to stop now. Zach Terrell has thrown 27 touchdowns and one – that’s right one – interception. Corey Davis is a first-round NFL talent. P.J. Fleck is a wizard. Western Michigan wins, but Toledo will make it interesting because Logan Woodside is the best quarterback you haven’t heard of. Woodside’s 40 touchdown passes lead the nation, and he’s up there with Terrell for the country’s best completion percentage.
Did you see PJ Fleck on College GameDay? The man is electric. It will be fascinating to see what job offers he commands, and if he even decides to leave Kalamazoo. Western Michigan wins, and one of the best stories of the season continues.
Debate amongst yourselves: Better season – Michigan or Western Michigan?
The fact that this game is being played at Waldo Stadium gives Western Michigan the edge, although #rowtheboat has had the advantage all year long. P.J. Fleck’s squad, like Toledo, is looking to clinch a berth in the MAC title game. Unlike the Rockets, the Broncos also have a shot at a New Year’s Six berth. I would expect Toledo’s Logan Woodside to match Western Michigan’s Zach Terrell shot for shot downfield in the passing game, but Jarvion Franklin is the difference in this one. He leads the MAC in rushing and will get the tough yards when WMU needs them in a Broncos win.
Western Michigan will go undefeated during the regular season, win the MAC Championship, get a great bowl bid, P.J. Fleck will get an offer at another school, and then leave Kalamazoo before the shine is off all of the trophies given to the Broncos this season. We will then be forced to hear the term “Row The Boat” as a rallying cry for a new team.
Actually, I’m just jealous of the fact that Fleck and I are the same age. He’s awesome. Western Michigan wins this one.
