Wisconsin vs. Iowa prediction roundtable with the Campus Insiders staff. Breaking down what will happen in Saturday’s battle for the Heartland Trophy between the Badgers and Hawkeyes.

Jeff Bartl

I figured Brian Stultz would write something derogatory about this Big Ten battle, and (spoiler alert) he didn’t disappoint. His (awful, horrible) SEC bias won’t hinder me from enjoying this grind.

Wisconsin’s defense will stuff Akrum Wadley and LeShun Daniels, all while Corey Clement gets the Badgers’ running game going. Alex Hornibrook won’t be spectacular, but he’ll throw at touchdown pass before Wisconsin forces a couple of turnovers to hang on for a close victory. The over/under is set at 42.5, and I’m taking the under.

Robert Judin

I’ve never been that high on C.J. Beathard. He’s been solid, but he won’t be great against Wisconsin, whose defense has been great this season. Corey Clement will hit the century mark and pick up two touchdowns. And the Badgers will hold Iowa under 20 points to take the win.

Dave Miller

On its way toward Pasadena last season, Iowa pulled out a 10-6 win over the Badgers. I can’t see a ton of points being scored in this one either. The Badgers are giving up just 106.2 yards per game on the ground, but the Hawkeyes combo of Akrum Wadley and LeShun Daniels will be a tough matchup.

Still, Paul Chryst’s team has Corey Clement and a nasty defense. The Badgers will bounce back from tough losses to Michigan and Ohio State and get the much-needed win.

Brian Stultz

I would rather watch a 5-hour documentary on how shoelaces are made than watch this defensive struggle, though Wisconsin has been an extremely impressive team this season. The Wisconsin run game will overpower the Hawkeyes, the Badgers reclaim the Heartland Trophy, and our HR director, a Wisconsin alumna, will try and tell us that “Badgers win the right way.” Whatever, Lauren.
