While Danny Hodge doesn’t have the most pinfall victories in college wrestling history, he reached legendary status. During Hodge’s wrestling career, he went a perfect 46-0 and pinned 36 of his 46 opponents.

Sanderson amassed a perfect record of 159-0, while winning 4 national titles and 3 Danny Hodge trophies. Of those 159 wins, Sanderson pinned 61 of his opponents for a pin rate of almost 50%.
Cael is one of the greats and earned his place on the list of most pinfalls in college wrestling history.
Ed Banach

Eddie “The Horse” Banach was the embodiment of his nickname. The Iowa great outworked all of his opponents en route to winning 3 national championships.
Banach ended his college wrestling career with 141 career wins and 73 by way of pinfall. Ed’s ability to finish matches puts him near the top of the most pinfall victories in college wrestling history.
He was almost able to match the pinfall record of the legendary Gene Mills.
Gene Mills

Mean Gene Mills is arguably the greatest wrestler that the University of Syracuse ever produced. The wrestling legend competed in over 150 matches and won two national titles during his college career.
Of the 150 matches, Mills won 144 and won 107 by pinfall. This gave Mean Gene an astounding 74.3% pin rate and puts him at second on the list of most pinfall victories.
Wade Schalles

Firmly at the top of the list of most pinfall victories in college wrestling history is the legend Wade Schalles. During his college career at Clarion State, Schalles was an unstoppable force.
In his four years of college wrestling, Wade competed in 159 matches and won 153 of them. Schalles was known as the ultimate finisher as he pinned 109 opponents out of those 153 wins.
Wade’s unbelievable pinfall record has stood for over fifty years and counting. The only wrestler that has even come close to breaking it was Gene Mills 40 years ago.
