5. Chris Leak: Florida – 11,213 Yards 

Starting the top 5 all-time SEC passing leaders list is Florida great Chris Leak. Chris was the first QB that started the Florida Gators greatest era of dominance.

Chris’s powerful arm led a powerful Florida offense to dominate the SEC. During the 2006 SEC Championship, he passed Danny Wuerfell as Florida’s top passer and later broke the SEC top five.

Leak, along with Tim Tebow, beat OSU to lead Florida to a national championship.

4. David Greene: Georgia – 11,528 Yards 

David Greene isn’t just one of the top 5 all-time SEC passing leaders. The Georgia great is also the NCAA record holder with 42 career college wins.

Throughout his career at Georgia, Greene spent his time winning games and putting up big passing numbers. His skills helped Georgia to win the SEC title his sophomore year in 2002. 

In his senior year, Greene threw for 2,789 yards to close out his college career with 11,528 yards. He retired from the SEC passing leader, but now holds the fourth spot.

3. Drew Lock: Missouri – 12,193 Yards

Drew Lock is not only one of the top 5 all-time SEC passing leaders. During his successful college QB career, Lock was also a touchdown throwing machine.

The Missouri legend was known for his deep ball and ability to find the end zone. During his junior year, Drew set a school record with  3,498 passing yards and 44 touchdowns.

His talent sent Missouri to two straight bowl games and he finished his career with 12,193 passing yards.

2. Will Rogers: Mississippi State – 12,315 Yards

If you watched SEC football between 2020 and 2023, you likely saw Will Rogers out on a show. The Mississippi State talent showed that he was one of the nation’s top QBs during his tenure.

He was a perfect fit in Mike Leach’s air raid offense. Rogers broke the SEC records for completions(1,301) and attempts(1,876) as Miss State’s starting quarterback.

Despite injuries and offensive scheme changes in 2023, Rogers reached the 2nd spot on the all-time SEC passers list.

1. Aaron Murray- Georgia – 13,166 Yards

The #1 spot of the top 5 all-time SEC passing leaders is Aaron Murray of Georgia. No other SEC quarterback was as efficient than Murray during his time as the Bulldogs quarterback.

In all four of his seasons in college, Murray threw for over 3,000+ yards on a powerful Georgia offense. Aaron’s best year ended with 3,893 yards, which added to his 13,166 total.

Murray also holds the SEC record for touchdowns(121) despite playing behind an inconsistent offensive line. It’s been twelve years since Andy Murray set his record which still stands.
