5. Utah Utes

However, they boast a good defense and got some much needed recruits through the portal. Utah’s offense also shows promise to improve as new OC Jason Beck will look to utilize the team’s top playmakers.

4. Baylor Bears
What makes Baylor one of the top 5 Big 12 teams of 2025-2026 is their offense. They have arguably the best trio in the conference with QB Sawyer Robertson, RB Bryson Washington, and OC Jake Spavital.
The Bears closed out the season on a six game winning streak and ended the season with an 8-5 record. However, they will be tested early with non-conference games against Auburn and SMU to start the season.
Although, Baylor did well in recruiting and the transfer portal, so they have a chance at a 10 win season.

Last year, KSU had a respectable 9-4 season, but fell short of the fan’s expectations. The Wildcats have attempted to add more firepower to the offense by signing top players in the transfer portal.
Coach Chris Kileman WRs Jerand Bradley, Jaron Tinha, and 5-star freshman TE Lincoln Cure. Great additions, but QB Avery Johnson will have to be more consistent to keep their playoff chances alive.

Texas Tech’s offense should be even better this year with the addition of center Cash Cleveland and wideout Micah Hudson. Great additions, but Tech’s defense is always suspect and is usually the team’s Achilles heel.
Failing to compete for a Big 12 title would be considered a disappointing season for Texas Tech.
