5. Lionel Simmons: La Salle- 3,217 Points

“L-Train” Lionel Simmons starts off the top 5 all-time scorers in men’s college basketball history list. The La Salle great put up all-time numbers during his stint from 1986 to 1990.
Simmons led La Salle to three straight tournament appearances and won both the Naismith and Wooden Award. He finished his impressive college career with 3,217 points and played seven seasons with the Sacramento Kings.
4. Chris Clemons: Campbell- 3,225 Points

Despite only being 5’9”, Chris Clemons was a dominant player during his college career. Clemons led Campbell University to their very first NCAA tournament appearance in 2019.
During his college career, Chris was a 2x Big South POTY and scored 45+ points in 9 games. His efforts earned him the 4th spot on the men’s college basketball all-time scorers list with 3,225 points.
3. Freeman Williams: Portland State- 3,249 Points

The late, great Freeman Williams comes in at #3 on the top 5 all-time scorers in men’s college basketball history. Williams led Portland State to multiple NCAA tournament appearances during his impressive college career.
He also won two scoring titles and finished his college career with 3,249 points. Freeman later had a 15-year pro career where he played in both the NBA and CBA.
Most notably posting a 51-point game for the San Diego Clippers against the Phoenix Suns.
2. Antoine Davis: Detroit Mercy- 3,664 Points

The #2 spot on the top 5 all-time scorers in men’s college basketball history is the most recent player. Antoine Davis played from 2018-2023 at Detroit Mercy and is the greatest player the school has produced.
Davis averaged 26 PPG, while leading Detroit Mercy to multiple 20+ win seasons during his tenure. He came just three points shy of tying the all-time mark with 3,664 points.
Davis also holds the NCAA three-pointers made record with 588. He currently plays in the NBA G-League and is attempting to work his way into the NBA.
1. Pete Maravich: LSU- 3,667 Points

At #1 on the top 5 all-time scorers in men’s college basketball history is the legendary “Pistol” Pete Maravich. Maravich is not only the all-time leading scorer, but also one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
While playing at LSU, Pistol Pete averaged 44.2 points per game in three collegiate seasons. What made Maravich’s 3,667 points was that he did it all before the three point line was established.
Pete was a once-in-a-generation talent and is remembered as one of the greatest players of all time.
