5. Pete Maravich(LSU): 66 Points(1969 vs. Tulane)

In 1969, the legend of “Pistol” Pete Maravich was still in its infancy. He showed the world what was to come in 1969 when LSU faced in-state rival Tulane.

Maravich claimed his spot on the most points in a single college basketball game list for the first time. Pistol put up 66 points on shooting 26-56 from the floor making 14-17 free throw attempts.

His LSU teammates sat back and let him go to work as they won the game 114-99.

4. Anthony Roberts(Oral Roberts): 66 Points(1977 vs. North Carolina A&T

Seven years after Maravich hit 66 points in a game, we’d see another college player hit this mark. Anthony Roberts of Oral Roberts(no relation) earned his spot on the most points in a single college basketball game list.

Against North Carolina A&T, Roberts had the game of his life in 1977. He shot 29-46 from the floor and went 8-13 on free throws.

Oral Roberts would need all of those points in this close game, which they won 110-106.

3. Calvin Murphy(Niagara): 68 Points(1968 vs. Syracuse)

Despite his size, Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy was an incredible basketball player. Murphy first got noticed in college when he had the game of his life.

In 1968, Murphy joined the list of most points in a single college basketball game with 68 points against Syracuse. Calvin went 26-47 from the floor and 16-20 from the free throw line.

2. Pete Marovich(LSU): 69 Points(1970 vs. Alabama)

In 1970, the legendary Pete Maravich out-did his previous 66 point performance against Tulane in 1969. Pistol broke that mark by three points against LSU’s arch rival Alabama.

With no three point line in 1970, Maravich put up 69 points on shooting 26-57 from the floor. LSU needed every point in this back-and-forth game that they won 106-104.

1. Kevin Bradshaw(Alliant International): 72 Points(1991 vs. Loyola Marymount)

Kevin Bradshaw is currently #1 on the list of players with the most points in a single college basketball game. In 1991, he went off against a very good Loyola Marymount team.

People were expecting a blowout by Loyola Marymount, but they didn’t expect what Bradshaw did. Loyola Marymount dominated the game, but the story was Kevin Bradshaw as he broke the single-game points record.

Kevin Bradshaw’s record of 72 points still stands today.
