Top 5 2025 NBA Prospects

The NBA and college basketball seasons have just begun, but people are already talking about next year’s draft. Some hot prospects are standing above their peers, and we want to highlight their skills.

Here is our list of the top 5 2025 NBA prospects. Check out the strengths of these young players below and why they have everyone talking.

Cooper Flagg: Guard/Forward, Duke

Cooper Flagg

The consensus pick for who will go #1 among all the top 2025 NBA prospects is Duke freshman Cooper Flagg. This 17-year-old phenom is being marked as a generational talent with incredible skill.

Flagg has shown elite defensive skills and plays even longer than his 6-foot-8 frame. He is also looking to develop his jump shot this year at Duke as he continues to evolve into a star.

The ceiling is high for Cooper Flagg, and everyone expects him to be great. If you think he’ll go #1 in next year’s draft, place a bet at FanDuel NBA odds.

Dylan Harper: Guard, Rutgers

Dylan Harper

Out of the top 4 2025 NBA prospects, many scouts have Rutgers’ Dylan Harper as their top guard. Harper has shown the potential to play both point guard and shooting guard.

He has shown that he can play well on or off the ball on offense and can play decent defense. Dylan is also not afraid to drive down the lane and make contact to get a basket.

If Harper further develops and shows he can be a true point guard, his draft stock will improve.

Ace Bailey: Guard/Small Forward, Rutgers

Ace Bailey

Harper is the only member of Rutger who is one of the top five NBA prospects. His partner in crime, Ace Bailey, has many scouts who are high on his potential to play in the NBA.

The 6-foot-9 guard/forward has shown to be multidimensional, which will significantly improve his draft stock. Bailey has a great pull-up jumper, can catch and shoot, and can drive down the lane.

He can make big NBA shots right now, which will have many teams taking a look at him.

Nolan Traore: Guard, France

Nolan Traore

For the fourth spot on the top 5 2025 NBA prospects list, we’re going to France. The French guard has been playing against pro-level teams in France, which will give him an advantage in the draft.

Many scouts think that Traore has the best court vision of any guard in the draft and has breakaway speed. He has been inconsistent with his 3-pointer, but he’s improving it and driving and defensive skills make up for it.

VJ Edgecombe: Guard, Baylor

VJ Edgecombe

Wrapping up the top 5 2025 NBA prospects list is Baylor’s starting guard, VJ Edgecombe. VJ has arguably been the most explosive first step for anyone in this draft class.

The Baylor freshman is also being compared to Anthony Edwards for his ability to be an on-ball defender and chase-down ability. Edgecombe is a bit small going into his freshman year, but he will hopefully improve his draft spot.

Depending on how he performs at Baylor, VJ can go anywhere from the top-5 to the bottom of the first round.
