College Game of the Week: #3 Penn State vs. #4 Ohio State

The college season is winding down and we have a HUGE game to decide who will get in the playoffs. For the first time in twenty-five years, Beaver Stadium is hosting its first top-five game.

Playoff and conference championships are on the line as #3 Penn State takes on #4 Ohio State. Check out our full breakdown of our college game of the week.

The Betting Odds

Early betting lines have Penn State as the underdog at home in this Big Ten clash. Ohio State Buckeyes are a four-point favorite on the road next week, scoring 47 points.

This is the first time in eleven games that the Nittany Lions are the underdog. However, history is a factor in OSU’s being the favorite, as they’ve beaten PSU in seven straight games.

This line may vary between the best dfs sites, which may slightly alter during the week before this Saturday.

#3 Penn States’ Guide to Victory

Penn States Football

The Penn State Nittany Lions are having their best season in years. They’re 7-0 and ranked #3, coming into their biggest game of the year against Ohio State.

PSU has been good on both sides of the ball, but they’ve also shown they can battle adversity. Two weeks ago, the Nittany Lions won a shootout in overtime against USC, then came from behind to beat Wisconsin last week.

Unfortunately, QB Drew Patrick Allar’s status remains uncertain after his knee injury against Wisconsin. With a conference title and playoffs on the line, Penn State will need to have their best game of the year.

#4 Ohio State’s Guide to Victory

Ohio State Football

Before the season started, many CFL experts picked Ohio State to make the playoffs. The Buckeyes looked great going into the season, as they blew out every opponent.

Unfortunately, they lost a heartbreaker against #1 Oregon and survived a rivalry game against Nebraska. Despite that one loss to #1 Oregon, the Buckeyes playoff and conference title hopes are still alive.

This OSU team is used to the pressure, which is why they’re a favorite going into this game.

Who’s Going to Win?

Penn State vs Ohio State Football

The four-point spread is an excellent line in this game, as both teams are playing great football. Ohio State has averaged an eight-point difference during this streak, but they’re facing a better Penn State team this year.

The Nittany Lions are 7-0 for the first time since 2019, and this game is shaping up to be a dogfight. However, OSU is 3-4 against the spread and comes into this game with a loss on its record.

They also failed to cover the spread against Nebraska last week and had to come from behind to win. These facts might make top betters go with Penn State to get the win at home and prove they’re a top team.

Don’t be surprised to see this game be decided by less than a touchdown. Everything is on the line for both teams in this game.
